Welcome to Soccer South Soccer Club

Welcome to Soccer South Soccer Club! Soccer South is primarily a recreational club that has been in existence for approximately 25 years and has been at our current location for the past 15 years. The address of our fields is 5171 SW Park Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. For reference, that’s two miles west of the corner of Fleur and Park Avenues and one mile east of the corner of 63 rd Street and Park Avenue in Des Moines.

We play fall and spring seasons averaging over 530 players per season and host co-ed and all-girls teams ranging from U6 to U19 age divisions (U19 only during the fall season). In the spring of 2005, we began our formal relationship with the Bulldog Soccer Academy (BSA) for player and coach development services in exchange for fees and promotional opportunities. BSA provides age appropriate player development sessions throughout the season, with the primary goal of player development in a fun learning environment. They also offer periodic coaching and goalie clinics to our members.

In 2005 we saw the rebirth of competitive soccer at Soccer South - fielding two competitive U11 teams. Since then we have grown and currently are fielding 3 competitive teams that participate in the Iowa Premier Soccer League. We also began a program designed for the younger players that provides them with some extra challenges and helps them improve and sharpen their soccer skills. All sessions are coached by a professional coaching staff. The program is called Jr. Blues and we run sessions in the fall, spring, and winter months. In May of 2007, we will be hosting our fifth annual soccer tournament - Sizzlin' Summer SoccerFest 2007. This is a recreational friendship tournament that focuses on fun and participation for the players and an enjoyable environment for the adults.
